The Write Fit

Created just for girls, The Write Fit combines physical activity (yoga, team-building games, improv movement) and journaling to inspire girls to build confidence, discover their inner voice and how to listen to it, and practice compassion for themselves and for others. Whether we meet in-person or virtually, we get creative and find ways to release physical energy in order to manage our emotional selves with honesty and humor.

In this class, girls will:

  • learn to trust, love and rely on themselves

  • discover and celebrate their individuality

  • connect to themselves and to each other

  • realize they are not alone in their wishes and worries

  • learn mindfulness techniques to reduce stress and anxiety

  • practice positive self-talk

  • let go of the need for competition and perfection

  • understand why the connection between body and mind is so important

  • boost their confidence and self-esteem

  • improve body image attitude and awareness

  • discover that all they ever need is already inside of them

Feel. Move. Love. Write. Be.

Each class follows the unique “Feel Move Love Write Be” process, where we begin with an acknowledgment of how we are feeling using tiny sticky notes, then move into the physical activity, write what we love about ourselves, journal in response to a particular prompt, and close with a peaceful circle of affirmations. No athletic or creative ability is required. All materials will be provided, including journals, pencils and t-shirts for girls to keep.

The Write Fit is a group class. Great for existing groups like Girl Scouts, athletic teams, book groups, after school enrichment, social clubs, sororities, etc. Sessions can be ongoing (e.g., meet weekly) or one-time events for occasions like birthday parties or themed sessions, such as a Mother/Daughter workshop.
