Life Coaching & Mentoring

Coaching helps girls develop a deep understanding of who they are right now, and allows them to identify their goals, hopes and dreams for the future with confidence and excitement. In this collaborative process, I use tools and strategies to help girls discover their passions, talents, struggles and challenges.

Coaching is a positive and proactive process that aims to empower girls to connect with their true selves, so that they are better able to connect with others. As their coach, cheerleader and guide, I ask girls tough questions and teach them how to build a solid foundation of self-love, trust and reliance they will use throughout their lives.

I offer 1:1 coaching sessions for individuals, as well as small group coaching sessions. Additionally, coaching is available to parents and caregivers to provide support and guidance while their girls work with me.

Topics we will address in coaching:

  • Identity: understanding who you are while recognizing you’re constantly changing.

  • Friendships: extraordinarily important, these relationships shape girls’ attitudes and perceptions about their world and themselves. It is critical to maintain friendship health, especially as they often act like roller coasters, twisting, turning and flipping upside down in the blink of an eye.

  • Future/Direction: identify short and long term goals, as well as dreams, wishes, strengths and challenges. Map out a plan to get from where you are now, to where you want to be.

  • Academics: tackle stress related to school, including teachers, class load, college prep, clashes with other students, etc.

  • Parents/Family Relationships: navigating ever-changing family dynamics, sibling rivalry, issues with parents.

  • Body Image & Self Esteem: develop healthy relationship with body, encourage body positivity and body activism, establish connection between mind and body, teach tools for lifetime of self-care.

  • Sex, Dating & Relationships: issues dealing with significant others.

  • Drugs & Alcohol: guidance in dealing with challenges related to drug and alcohol usage.

  • Technology & Media Overload: tools to manage social media and screen time including virtual school brought on by pandemic, as well as recreational use (Netflix, etc.)

  • Decision Making: learn difference between aggressive and assertive behavior, strategies for self advocacy and guidance for actively making choices that lead to desired results.

How the Coaching Process Works:

  • Step 1: Inquiry Call (20 mins): Complimentary call between parent/caregiver and me to decide whether coaching is a good fit. If we agree to continue, we will schedule an Intake Session. (Note: if girl is over 18 years old, this call may be between girl and me.)

  • Step 2: Intake Session (60-90 min): I will meet with parent/caregiver to gather pertinent background information about girl’s medical and emotional history, academic experiences, extra curricular activities, social life and family relationships. We will review the coaching plan, identify client needs (parent and girl) and goals for coaching. We will also review policies and procedures. Finally we will schedule a package of 1:1 coaching sessions between girl and me. Each package is five (5) sessions; we will meet once a week.

  • Step 3: I will meet with girl once a week for five weeks; each session is 60 minutes.

  • Step 4: I will call parent/caregiver to discuss girl’s progress, share insights and determine whether continued coaching is desired.
